The diagnosis of lung cancer in coal-miners

This paper is only available as a PDF. To read, Please Download here.

      Summary

This paper describes 11 cases of combined lung cancer and coal-workers' pneumoconiosis and six cases of progressive massive fibrosis which were diagnosed as carcinoma.
There was no evidence that pneumoconiosis modifies the course of lung cancer.
There was considerable difficulty in differentiating peripheral carcinomas from unilateral progressive massive fibrosis of similar appearance, and the points of diagnostic importance are discussed.
